About me

Jaap supported me during a turbulent time at work. I can wholeheartedly recommend working with him.

Working can feel good

My name is Jaap Cohen. Ever since I was a student, I’ve been asking myself big questions: What makes a good life? And how do you live it?

As a coach, I help people who feel stuck or drained at work to rediscover a sense of clarity, calm and purpose. My mission is to support those who feel stressed, overwhelmed or uninspired — to help them reconnect with themselves, at work and beyond.

Why this work matters to me

Research shows that 60 to 80% of people are unhappy at work. I see it every day. When you don’t feel space, energy or inspiration in your job, it’s hard to feel well anywhere else. But I know from experience: it can be different. You can show up as yourself — and even make the world a little better by doing so. Working can feel good.

My background

I studied Psychology and Italian out of curiosity about people, systems and meaning. I’ve been working in publishing for over 25 years, leading teams and helping bring books and software to life. I know what pressure feels like. I know how it can grate. And I know how challenge can also energise you and bring out your strength.

Eventually, I returned to my roots in psychology and trained as a coach. Since then, I’ve guided many clients — each with their own path, each with their own questions.

My background in psychology gives me a solid foundation. My experience in business means I understand the real-world dynamics of work. And my coaching training has given me practical tools to truly connect with who you are.

I keep learning

I continue to develop myself and work under supervision — because I believe a coach is never done learning.
